Securus was founded in 2008 by a group of seasoned entrepreneurs who recognized that GPS technology and safety and security markets were soon going to intersect and create a growing demand. We set out to build core technology that is robust, user-friendly and flexible in its usage across vertical segments.

Securus also saw the importance of partnering with established companies in each vertical to create a stronger presence and market potential.

Securus first entered the pet market with SpotLight GPS and partnered with the American Kennel Club Companion Animal Recovery division to provide AKC CAR members with the technology to augment their microchip identification. This partnership has proven successful, and Securus has just launched the second generation of the GPS device, SpotLITE.
